Written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love, the track was recorded over 6 weeks in four different Los Angeles studios, at a cost of over $16,000. The most recent of many "clues" of this Death Hoax was the fact that he was the only barefoot Beatle on the newly released Abbey Road LP cover. The Jimmy Pageproduced album which was recorded over six months between four European and three American tours, peaked at No.1 in both the UK and US, going on to sell over 12 million copies in the US alone, (and spending 138 weeks on the UK chart). With the release of ‘The Beatles Anthology 3’ a week away, it was anticipated that total Beatles album sales for 1996 would exceed 20 million.
θέσεις στο αεροπλάνο;
Λένε ότι το αεροπλάνο είναι το πιο ασφαλές μεταφορικό μέσο, αφού δυστυχήματα δεν γίνονται συχνά. Παρ'ολ'αυτά, αν γίνουν οι πιθανότητες να επιζήσει κανείς είναι ελάχιστες. Ποια θέση στο αεροπλάνο, όμως, αυξάνει τις πιθανότητες επιβίωσης;
Είναι καλύτερο να κάθεται κάποιος κοντά στο φτερό; Κοντά στην έξοδο κινδύνου; Στην ουρά; Στον διάδρομο; Στο παράθυρο;

The Dubliners - Salonika
(Σημειώσεις Jimmy Crowley, «The Boys of Fair Hill»).
Oh me husband's in Salonika
And I wonder if he's dead
And I wonder if he knows he has a kid
With a foxy head
So right away, so right away
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
When the war is over
What will the slackers do?
They'll be all around the soldiers
For to loan 'em a bob or two . . .
What will the slackers do?
They'll be all around the soldiers
For to loan 'em a bob or two . . .
So right away, so right away
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
And when the war is over
What will the soldier's do?
They'll be walking around with a leg and a half
And the slackers
They'll have two
What will the soldier's do?
They'll be walking around with a leg and a half
And the slackers
They'll have two
So right away, so right away
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
They tax'd a pound of butter
And they tax'd the ha'penny bun.
And still with all their taxin'
They can't bate the bloody hun!
And they tax'd the ha'penny bun.
And still with all their taxin'
They can't bate the bloody hun!
So right away, so right away
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
They tax'd the colloseum
And they tax'd St. Mary's Hall!
Why don't they tax the bobbies,
With their backs against the wall?
And they tax'd St. Mary's Hall!
Why don't they tax the bobbies,
With their backs against the wall?
So right away, so right away
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
When the war is over
What will the slackers do?
For every kid in America
In Cork there will be two!
What will the slackers do?
For every kid in America
In Cork there will be two!
So right away, so right away
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
They takes us out to blarney
And they lays us on the grass . . .
They puts us in the family way
Then they leaves us on our arse!
And they lays us on the grass . . .
They puts us in the family way
Then they leaves us on our arse!
So right away, so right away
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
There's no lino in the parlour
And in the kitchen too.
And a lovely glass-backed chiffonier
That we got from Dickie Drew
And in the kitchen too.
And a lovely glass-backed chiffonier
That we got from Dickie Drew
So right away, so right away
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
Oh never marry a soldier
A sailor, or a marine
And keep your eye on that Sinn Fein boy
With his yellow, white, and green!
A sailor, or a marine
And keep your eye on that Sinn Fein boy
With his yellow, white, and green!
So right away, so right away
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy
So right away Salonika
Right away, me soldier boy!
Right away, me soldier boy!

AT&T announces it will buy
Time Warner for nearly $86bn
The US telecoms giant AT&T has announced that it will buy entertainment group Time Warner for nearly $86bn (£70bn).
The deal was agreed at a meeting of the two boards on Saturday but will still need to be approved by regulators.
Correspondents say it is the biggest deal in the world this year.
It reflects the desire of the telecoms company to acquire content to stream over its high-speed network and attract more online viewers.
If the deal is approved by regulators, AT&T would gain control of CNN and the HBO TV network, in addition to the Warner Bros film studio and other prized media assets.
AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson said he did not anticipate any regulatory obstacles to the merger, saying any concerns could be overcome if concessions were made.
"This is a perfect match of two companies with complementary strengths who can bring a fresh approach to how the media and communications industry works for customers, content creators, distributors and advertisers," he said.
The deal is likely to be closely scrutinised by US antitrust regulators, as AT&T is already the third largest cable TV provider in the US.
An AT&T statement said that aim of the deal is to give customers "unmatched choice, quality, value and experiences that will define the future of media and communications" and the new company will "lead the next wave of innovation in converging media and communications industry".
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has said he will block the deal if he is elected.
"It's too much concentration of power in the hands of too few," he said on Saturday, before the deal was confirmed.
AT&T will pay $107.50 for each Time Warner share, in a combination of cash and stock, worth $85.4bn overall, according to a statement.
AT&T said it expected to close the deal to be completed by the end of 2017.
Other media company shares, including Discovery, AMC, Netflix and CBS, recently rose as investors speculated that a deal could spark a fresh wave of takeovers and mergers among media and technology companies.
AT&T, which has a market value of about $238bn, has already made moves to turn itself into a media powerhouse, buying satellite TV provider DirecTV last year for $48.5bn.
Time Warner chief executive Jeff Bewkes has, however, resisted selling in the past. The company rejected an $80bn offer from Twenty-First Century Fox Inc in 2014.
The deal gives AT&T access to a major producer of content as it seeks to diversify away from its core telecoms business. Rival Verizon is currently in negotiations to buy Yahoo and has already bought AOL, owner of Huffington Post.
Some analysts, however, question whether AT&T needs to mount a complete takeover of Time Warner.
