Scores diluted by the use of tracked themes or other preexisting music, diminished in impact by the predominant use of songs, or assembled from the music of more than one composer shall not be eligible.The 86th Academy Awards® nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.Academy Awards® for outstanding film achievements of 2013 will be presented on Oscar Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live on the ABC Television Network. ΤΟ ΚΟΚΤΕΙΛ 'ΝΙΚΟΛΑΚΙ'ΚΑΝΕΙ ΘΡΑΥΣΗ ΣΤΗΝ ΟΥΑΣΙΓΚΤΩΝ
From the menu, Jeff Faile's Nicolaki cocktail -- house-made Greek yogurt with vodka, honey, lemon and rosemary, shaken and served in coupe glass -- reads like an unfortunate twist on a smoothie. But the drink that tops the list at the re-envisionedIron Gate is tart, surprisingly refreshing and quickly becoming the signature of the restaurant's striking bar, Faile's new stomping grounds.

On a cocktail list that's full of nods to the kitchen's Greek-inspired fare, the Nicolaki also feels like the most obvious way to get into the Iron Gate spirit. "Curiosity is making people try it," says Faile, who was known for myriad variations on the bitter Negroni cocktail in his previous gig at Fiola. Plus, Faile says, it's a vodka cocktail, which has a way of attracting even the most cocktail-averse.
If Iron Gate's vintage good looks and candle-lit bar weren't romantic enough, know this: The drink, $12, is its own tribute to love. Faile named it for his wife, Nicole.

COUNTRY SINGER RAY PRICE DIES AT 87
Country Music Hall of Fame member Ray Price died today (Monday, Dec. 16) at home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. The artist behind a long string of hits, including “Crazy Arms,” “For the Good Times,” “Heartaches by the Number” and more, Ray is widely regarded as one of country music’s key innovators and is credited with helping develop important stylistic changes in the genre. He was 87.
Noble Ray Price was born near Perryville, Texas, but raised in Dallas as well as on his father’s farm. He served in the Marines during World War II and enrolled at North Texas Agricultural College with plans to study veterinary medicine. His musical career began when he started singing at a local cafe, eventually recording an unsuccessful single for Nashville’s Bullet Records.
Later on, he caught the attention of Columbia Records, who released his first single, the Lefty Frizzell-penned “If You're Ever Lonely, Darling.” He joined Hank Williams on the road and the pair wrote “Weary Blues (From Waiting),” which became a minor hit for Ray. He left Texas for Nashville to join the Grand Ole Opry in 1952.
Ray's career took off with the release of “Crazy Arms” in 1956, which spent 20 weeks at No. 1 and updated the honky-tonk sound of his forbears with a modern touch that proved highly influential. The song’s new shuffle became known as the “Ray Price beat.”
By the 1960s, Ray began to add more pop instrumentation to his sound, exemplified by his 1967 hit “Danny Boy.” The song’s orchestration put off some of his early fans, but welcomed even more new ones. Most seemed united, however, on the 1970 No. 1 “For the Good Times,” which went on to earn Ray the Academy of Country Music’s Single and Album of the Year honors.
Ray returned to Texas in the mid-1970s, releasing albums sporadically through different labels, with none of them matching his previous success.
He continued recording and touring through recent years. A 2007 album, Last of the Breed, made with Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, won a Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.
In late 2012, Ray revealed that he was receiving chemotherapy to treat pancreatic cancer. In February 2013, Ray reported to his fans that the treatments had been successful and his cancer was in remission, but he was hospitalized multiple times before the end of 2013 with an assortment of health issues. Last week, he and his wife, Janie, elected to put Ray in hospice care and forgo any further treatment.
There is a new album of Ray’s music planned for release in 2014, as well as at least one tribute show in Nashville in February.

Ο λόγος για τον Ντάνο Λυγίζο, ο οποίος παρά τις δυσκολίες που αντιμετωπίζει δεν το βάζει κάτω.
«Μου δίνεται η ευκαιρία να ζητήσω μία μεγάλη συγγνώμη που δεν... πέθανα», λέει σε καθημερινή εφημερίδα από τη Σκέπη Ηλικιωμένων στην Παιανία όπου μένει τα τελευταία δύο χρόνια. «Πριν από μερικά χρόνια πληροφορήθηκα τον... θάνατό μου από τους ανθρώπους που θέλησαν να δημιουργήσουν ξανά ένα νέο σποτάκι της Ελληνικής Εταιρίας Προστασίας Θαλασσίου Περιβάλλοντος (ΕΛΜΕΠΑ), το οποίο είχα κάνει στο παρελθόν ”δανείζοντας” τη φωνή μου στον γλάρο που προτρέπει τον κόσμο να μη ρίχνει σκουπίδια και πλαστικά σε θάλασσες και ακτές. Ευτυχώς που παρενέβη μια κοπέλα -με την οποία ήμασταν μαζί σε ιστιοπλοϊκούς αγώνες και με γνώριζε- και τους εξήγησε ότι ζω κι έτσι το έκαναν ξανά με τη φωνή μου» τόνισε.
Ο Ντάνος Λυγίζος πέρασε δύσκολες στιγμές με την υγεία του εξαιτίας του γεγονότος ότι ήταν μανιώδης καπνιστής: «Πάσχω εδώ και χρόνια από αποφρακτική πνευμονοπάθεια, το γνωστό ΧΑΠ. Και μετά το ΧΑΠ το... χάπι εντ» λέει με χιούμορ. «Δεν έλεγα να σταματήσω το τσιγάρο. Μου έλεγε μια φίλη μου γιατρός πνευμονολόγος: “Kόψε το τσιγάρο, θα το μετανιώσεις πικρά”. Εγώ, όμως, δεν το έκανα. Η πρώτη κρίση με έπιασε στην Πάτρα. Με πήγαν στο τοπικό νοσοκομείο θώρακος και αρχικά σταματάω το κάπνισμα για τρία χρόνια. Κάποια στιγμή όμως, που είχαμε βγει πρώτοι σε ιστιοπλοϊκούς αγώνες στους οποίους συμμετείχα κι εγώ και πετούσαμε από τη χαρά μας, ζήτησα ένα τσιγάρο κι έτσι το άρχισα ξανά».
«Έφυγα από το Χαλάνδρι που είναι το σπίτι μου και ήρθα εδώ, στην Παιανία, που είναι μια περιοχή όπου υπάρχει περισσότερος καθαρός αέρας, αφού χρειάζομαι οξυγόνο λόγω της πάθησής μου» είπε σχετικά με την απόφασή του να πάει σε οίκο ευγηρίας. Στη Σκέπη Ηλικιωμένων έχει τη δική του σουίτα, αλλά και το αυτοκίνητό του με το οποίο, όποτε θέλει, κάνει τις βόλτες του.

NCIS CELEBRATING THE HOLIDAYS
"NCIS" season 11 is celebrating the holidays with next week's episode 11, "Homesick," and on Tuesday, Dec. 10, CBS released a new sneak preview teasing what this year's Christmas episode brings.
In this next "NCIS" episode, a mysterious illness strikes children from military families, and the case goes to Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team. What's causing this illness? Abby (Pauley Perrette) and Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) – don't you just love when those two work together? – partner with the Naval Medical Research Center to determine the strain of illness in hopes of finding a cure before the holidays. Plus, Meredith Eaton returns as Carol Wilson.
Also, Director Vance (Rocky Carroll) struggles with forgiveness when he gets a holiday surprise when his estranged father-in-law (Ben Vereen) shows up at his home.
The "Homesick" promo offers a look at both parts of the episode. While Abby's all dressed up for the holidays (just like you'd expect) and Tony (Michael Weatherly) seems to be getting into the Christmas spirit, the focus is going to be figuring out what the mystery illness making kids very sick is.
Meanwhile, the Vance family has decorated for the holidays, but when Vance's father-in-law, Lamar, shows up, Vance tells him he has no business coming there. According to the promos, he's "a mystery man" and his kids don't seem to know their grandfather, so get ready for some family drama for the holidays.

Πρόκειται για τη βιολογική Κορινθιακή σταφίδα σκιάς που δεν αποξηραίνεται στον ήλιο αλλά στη σκιά σύμφωνα με τη συνταγή του παππού. Όπως εκτιμούν οι επιστήμονες η «σταφίδα σκιάς» περιέχει διπλάσιες αντιοξειδωτικές ουσίες, από την αντίστοιχη που αποξηραίνεται στον ήλιο. Φέτος μάλιστα η βιολογική Κορινθιακή σταφίδα σκιάς «Golden Black» βραβεύτηκε με χρυσό αστέρι στα Great Taste Awards 2013.

ΚΑΤΑΔΙΚΕΣ ΜΕ ΑΝΑΣΤΟΛΗ ΓΙΑ ΕΙΣΒΟΛΗ ΣΤΗΝ ΕΤ 3

Ποινή φυλάκισης έξι μηνών με τριετή αναστολή στον καθένα επέβαλε το Μονομελές Πλημμελειοδικείο Θεσσαλονίκης στον γενικό γραμματέα του Εργατικού Κέντρου Θεσσαλονίκης και στέλεχος του ΠΑΜΕ, Σωτήρη Ζαριανόπουλου, όπως και σε δημοσιογράφο-μέλος της ΕΣΗΕΜ-Θ, που κατηγορούνταν ότι πριν από τέσσερα χρόνια μπήκαν στα στούντιο της ΕΤ3 στη Θεσσαλονίκη, προκειμένου να εκφωνήσουν απεργιακό δελτίο.
Το δικαστήριο τους έκρινε ένοχους για διατάραξη οικιακής ειρήνης σε δημόσιο χώρο.
Το περιστατικό εκτυλίχθηκε στις 17 Δεκεμβρίου 2009, ημέρα απεργίας που είχε εξαγγείλει το ΠΑΜΕ. Η δημοσιογράφος μαζί με τον τότε επικεφαλής της δημοτικής παράταξης του ΚΚΕ «Λαϊκή Συσπείρωση» του δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης κατηγορούνταν, σύμφωνα με τη δικογραφία, ότι εισέβαλαν στις εγκαταστάσεις του τηλεοπτικού σταθμού για να διαβάσει η πρώτη στον «αέρα» μία ανακοίνωση του ΠΑΜΕ.
Απολογούμενοι, οι δύο κατηγορούμενοι έκαναν λόγο για μία «συμβολική πράξη διαμαρτυρίας» επειδή, κατά τους ίδιους, δεν συμμετείχαν οι δημοσιογράφοι στην κινητοποίηση, ενώ ισχυρίστηκαν ότι δεν υπήρχε πρόθεση εκ μέρους τους ούτε να παραμείνουν παράνομα στα στούντιο ούτε να διακόψουν το δελτίο ειδήσεων που ήταν σε εξέλιξη.
Η ποινική διαδικασία κινήθηκε αυτεπάγγελτα. Ο εισαγγελέας της έδρας πρότεινε την απαλλαγή τους, πρόταση με την οποία όμως δεν συντάχθηκε το δικαστήριο.

Η ΚΟΠΗ ΤΗΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΟΠΙΤΑΣ ΤΩΝ ΔΗΜΟΣΙΟΓΡΑΦΩΝ
Η Ένωση Συντακτών Ημερήσιων Εφημερίδων Μακεδονίας-Θράκης οργανώνει και φέτος στο κτήριό της (Στρατηγού Καλλάρη 5) την καθιερωμένη ετήσια γιορτή της για την κοπή της βασιλόπιτας.
Την Δευτέρα 6 Ιανουαρίου 2014, από τις 11 το πρωί ως τις 4 το απόγευμα, η ΕΣΗΕΜ-Θ υποδέχεται τα μέλη της, κερνά καφέ, και δίνει στα παιδιά μέχρι 15 ετών μικρά δώρα.
Στις 12 το μεσημέρι, στην αίθουσα συνεδρίων της ΕΣΗΕΜ-Θ (3οςόροφος), θα κοπεί η βασιλόπιτα.

1500 ΒΙΟΤΕΧΝΙΕΣ ΕΚΛΕΙΣΑΝ ΦΕΤΟΣ ΣΤΗΝ ΘΕΣΣΑΛΟΝΙΚΗ
Πάνω από τέσσερις βιοτεχνικές επιχειρήσεις έβαζαν λουκέτο καθημερινά το 2013 στη Θεσσαλονίκη κατά μέσο όρο, εκτιμά το Βιοτεχνικό Επιμελητήριο της πόλης. Το διάστημα 1 Ιανουαρίου - 16 Δεκεμβρίου διαγράφηκαν από τα μητρώα του ΒΕΘ 1.546 βιοτεχνικές επιχειρήσεις, αριθμός ελαφρώς μειωμένος σε σχέση με τις 1.770 βιοτεχνίες στο αντίστοιχο διάστημα του 2012. Οι εγγραφές περιορίστηκαν στις 656, έναντι 686 το 2012.
«Έχουμε σχεδόν τρεις διαγραφές ανά μία εγγραφή και είναι θλιβερό ότι βιοτεχνίες με παράδοση στον κλάδο τους κλείνουν. Το 2014 πρέπει να υπάρξει κάτι που θα αλλάξει τα δεδομένα, καθώς σήμερα η υπέρμετρη φορολογία οδηγεί τις επιχειρήσεις σε κλείσιμο και αφανισμό» δήλωσε σε συνέντευξη Τύπου ο πρόεδρος του ΒΕΘ Παναγιώτης Παπαδόπουλος.
Όπως ανέφερε, ο «μεγάλος ασθενής» ήταν το 2013 οι ατομικές επιχειρήσεις με 1.194 διαγραφές. Ακολούθησαν οι ομόρρυθμες επιχειρήσεις με 268 διαγραφές.
Όσον αφορά τους λόγους διαγραφής, την πρωτιά διατηρούν οι επιχειρήσεις που κρίθηκαν ασύμφορες (826 έναντι 1.116 το 2012).
Αυξημένος σε σχέση με πέρυσι είναι ο αριθμός των επιχειρήσεων που οδηγήθηκαν σε κλείσιμο λόγω συνταξιοδότησης (407 έναντι 362 το 2012).
Όσον αφορά τις εγγραφές, η πλειονότητα (481) αφορά ατομικές επιχειρήσεις.

ΤΙΜΗΘΗΚΕ ΤΟ ΜΟΡΦΩΤΙΚΟ ΙΔΡΥΜΑ ΤΗΣ ΕΣΗΕΜΘ
Το Μορφωτικό Ίδρυμα της Ένωσης Συντακτών Ημερησίων Εφημερίδων Μακεδονίας-Θράκης τιμήθηκε σήμερα με το Βραβείο του Ιδρύματος Προαγωγής Δημοσιογραφίας Αθανασίου Β. Μπότση για το σύνολο της πολιτιστικής δράσης του και την προσφορά του στους δημοσιογράφους.
Την απονομή του βραβείου έκανε ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας Κάρολος Παπούλιας, και το Μορφωτικό Ίδρυμα της ΕΣΗΕΜ-Θ εκπροσώπησαν στην τελετή που έγινε στην Αθήνα, στο Μέγαρο της Παλαιάς Βουλής, ο πρόεδρος του διοικητικού συμβουλίου του, Μόσχος Βοϊτσίδης, ο αντιπρόεδρος Ηλίας Κουτσούκος και ο γενικός γραμματέας Τάσος Ρέτζιος.
Τα άλλα τρία Βραβεία του Ιδρύματος δόθηκαν φέτος στους δημοσιογράφους Ρένα Κουβελιώτη, για τα αποκαλυπτικά και αποκλειστικά ρεπορτάζ της στη διάρκεια του έτους 2013 στον τηλεοπτικό σταθμό «Alpha», Ανδρέα Παναγόπουλο (ΑΝΤ1 και Αθηναϊκό-Μακεδονικό Πρακτορείο Ειδήσεων), για την επιστημονική έρευνά του σχετικά με την διαδικτυακή ειδησεογραφία στην Ελλάδα, και Κώστα Αργυρό για την δημοσιογραφική προσέγγιση στην παρουσίαση της «Ευρώπης των 27» με σειρά τηλεοπτικών εκπομπών στην ΝΕΤ
