ΣΥΝΑΥΛΙΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΚΟΝΤΑΡΙΩΤΙΣΣΑ

Ευχετήρια και εγκωμιαστικά άσματα, που ψάλλουν τα παιδιά (ενίοτε και οι μεγάλοι) κατά τις παραμονές μεγάλων εορτών, όπως τα Χριστούγεννα (24 Δεκεμβρίου), η Πρωτοχρονιά (31 Δεκεμβρίου) και τα Θεοφάνεια (5 Ιανουαρίου). Κάλαντα άδονται ακόμα στις εορτές του Λαζάρου και των Βαΐων, τα λεγόμενα Βαΐτικα. Αντίθετα, τα κάλαντα της Μεγάλης Παρασκευής έχουν κατανυκτικό χαρακτήρα.
Ετυμολογικά, η λέξη «κάλαντα» προέρχεται από τη λατινική calendae (καλένδες στα ελληνικά), που σημαίνει τις πρώτες ημέρες κάθε μήνα. Ειδικά, οι Καλένδες του Ιανουαρίου ήταν μέρες γιορτής για τους Ρωμαίους, λόγω της έλευσης του νέου χρόνου. Τα Κάλαντα έλκουν την καταγωγή τους από παρόμοια αρχαία τραγούδια του αγερμού και της ειρεσιώνης και είχαν κοσμικό χαρακτήρα. Η Εκκλησία κατά τους Βυζαντινούς χρόνους απαγόρευε ή απέτρεπε αυτό το έθιμο ως ειδωλολατρικό και το είχε καταδικάσει με απόφαση της ΣΤ'Οικουμενικής Συνόδου το 680 μ.Χ. Οι συμμετέχοντες στο έθιμο των Καλάντων αποκαλούνταν «Μηναγύρτες». Με την πάροδο του χρόνου τα Κάλαντα απέκτησαν θρησκευτικό περιεχόμενο, ανάλογο με την κάθε γιορτή.
Την παραμονή των Χριστουγέννων οι καλαντιστές γυρνούν από σπίτι σε σπίτι και τραγουδούν:
Καλήν εσπέραν άρχοντες, αν είναι ο ορισμός σας
Χριστού την θείαν Γέννησιν να πω στ’ αρχοντικό σας…
Στη συνέχεια διηγούνται τα περιστατικά της Γεννήσεως, τελειώνοντας με ευχές και επαίνους για το νοικοκύρη, την κυρά και τους άξιους βλαστούς του σπιτιού. Φυσικά, οι καλαντιστές δεν ξεχνούν να ζητήσουν και την αμοιβή τους, είτε σε είδος, είτε σε «ρευστό» στις μέρες μας, με συχνά αυτοσχέδιους στίχους όπως: «Δώστε κι εμάς τον κόπο μας να είναι ο ορισμός σας». Αν το φιλοδώρημα είναι πενιχρό ή δεν δοθεί καθόλου, οι καλαντιστές σκαρώνουν κάποιες φορές σκωπτικά ή αποδοκιμαστικά δίστιχα για τον νοικοκύρη.
Πασίγνωστα είναι και τα κάλαντα της Πρωτοχρονιάς:
Αρχιμηνιά κι αρχιχρονιά κι αρχή καλός μας χρόνος…
και λιγότερο γνωστά τα κάλαντα των Θεοφανείων (Των Φώτων):
Σήμερα τα φώτα κι ο Φωτισμός
Και χαρά μεγάλη κι αγιασμός…
Το Σάββατο του Λαζάρου (το Σάββατο πριν από την Κυριακή των Βαΐων) τα παιδιά γυρίζουν τα σπίτια και τραγουδούν τα ειδικά κάλαντα (Λαζαρικά) σε διάφορες παραλλαγές, που εξιστορούν την «εκ νεκρών έγερση» του Λαζάρου. Τελειώνοντας το τραγούδι τους τα λαζαράκια, όπως αποκαλούνται οι καλαντιστές της ημέρας, συνεχίζουν με ευχετικούς και επαινετικούς στίχους για το σπίτι και δέχονται ως φιλοδώρημα αυγά που τα τοποθετούν σ’ ένα στολισμένο καλαθάκι (σε κάποιες περιοχές φρούτα ή χρήματα). Τον Λάζαρο τραγουδούν κυρίως κορίτσια σχολικής ηλικίας, τα οποία αποκαλούνται λαζαρίνες, λαζαρίτσες, λαζαρούδισσες κ.α. Γενικότερα, το Σάββατο του Λαζάρου λαμβάνει χαρούμενο χαρακτήρα, καθώς η έγερση του Λαζάρου προαναγγέλλει την Ανάσταση του Χριστού.
Σώζονται πολλές παραλλαγές από κάλαντα, άλλα σε δημοτική γλώσσα και άλλα σε μισοκαθαρεύουσα. Ανάλογα με τον τόπο και τις εποχές, τα παιδιά που ψάλλουν τα κάλαντα κρατούν συνήθως πολύχρωμα φαναράκια, καράβια ή εκκλησίες φωτισμένες εσωτερικά, σιδερένια τρίγωνα ή ραβδιά στολισμένα με λουλούδια σαν τους αρχαίους θύρσους. Οι μεγάλοι συνοδεύουν με μουσική υπόκρουση το τραγούδι τους και έχουν μαζί τους και καλάθια, όπου βάζουν τα δώρα που τους φιλεύουν. Τα όργανα που κυριαρχούν είναι η φυσαρμόνικα, το τύμπανο, το τουμπελέκι, η τσαμπούνα και άλλα πνευστά όργανα.
Ο λαός δέχεται με συμπάθεια τους καλαντιστές, που προσδίδουν στις γιορτές ιδιαίτερη χάρη και ευθυμία.
Αντιθέτως, τα Κάλαντα της Μεγάλης Παρασκευής έχουν θρηνητικό χαρακτήρα και αναφέρονται στη Σταύρωση του Χριστού. Το πρωί της Μεγάλης Παρασκευής ομάδες παιδιών γυρνούν από σπίτι σε σπίτι και τραγουδούν το μοιρολόι «Σήμερα μαύρος ουρανός», γνωστό και ως «Μοιρολόι της Παναγίας». Σε πολλές περιοχές της χώρας τα κορίτσια της ομάδας κρατούν ένα στεφάνι, πλεγμένο με λουλούδια εποχής, το οποίο στη συνέχεια το εναποθέτουν είτε στον Επιτάφιο, είτε στον τάφο του προσφάτως αποβιώσαντος ενορίτη. Τα Κάλαντα της Μεγάλης Παρασκευής τείνουν σήμερα να εκλείψουν.

Η Άγια Νύχτα είναι ίσως το πιο γνωστό χριστουγεννιάτικο τραγούδι σ'όλο τον κόσμο. Μεγάλοι συνθέτες όπως ο Βέρντι, ο Βάγκνερ, ο Πουτσίνι και άλλοι, το αναγνώρισαν ως ένα βαθιά θρησκευτικό τραγούδι, με μια παράξενη δύναμη που φτάνει κατευθείαν στις καρδιές των ανθρώπων. Κατά καιρούς, η πατρότητά του αποδόθηκε στον Μότσαρτ, στον Χάιντν ή στον Μπετόβεν.
Η αλήθεια είναι πως η Άγια Νύχτα δημιουργήθηκε από τους Γιόζεφ Μορ και Φραντς Γκρούμπερ, κι εψάλη για πρώτη φορά τα Χριστούγεννα του 1818 στην εκκλησία του Αγίου Νικολάου στο μικρό χωριό Όμπερντορφ της Αυστρίας.
Ο Μορ είχε γράψει τους στίχους δύο χρόνια νωρίτερα. Στις 24 Δεκεμβρίου του 1818 ζήτησε από τον Γκρούμπερ να συνθέσει μία μελωδία για να συνοδεύσει το τραγούδι με την κιθάρα του. Σύμφωνα με την παράδοση, το εκκλησιαστικό όργανο του ναού δεν μπορούσε να χρησιμοποιηθεί στη χριστουγεννιάτικη λειτουργία, καθώς τα ποντίκια είχαν καταστρέψει κάποια εξαρτήματά του.
Η ιστορία αυτή ήταν γνωστή, ωστόσο επιβεβαιώθηκε πολύ αργότερα, το 1995, όταν ανακαλύφθηκε μία παρτιτούρα που ανήκε στον Μορ, με τον Γκρούμπερ να υπογράφει τη σύνθεση. Στίχοι και μουσικοί όμως φαίνεται να γράφτηκαν μαζί, το 1816.
Σύμφωνα με μία άλλη εκδοχή, η Άγια Νύχτα τραγουδήθηκε τα μεσάνυχτα εκείνων των Χριστουγέννων και μετά ξεχάστηκε. Το 1825 ένα επισκευαστής εκκλησιαστικών οργάνων ανακάλυψε την παρτιτούρα και «ξαναζωντάνεψε» το τραγούδι. Σήμερα, υπολογίζεται πως έχει μεταφραστεί σε περισσότερες από 300 γλώσσες.

ΚΑΛΑΝΤΑ ΣΤΟ ΔΗΜΑΡΧΕΙΟ ΘΕΣΣΑΛΟΝΙΚΗΣ
Με Χριστουγεννιάτικα κάλαντα και μελωδίες γέμισε σήμερα, Τετάρτη 24 Δεκεμβρίου 2014, το Δημαρχείο Θεσσαλονίκης από Χορωδίες συλλόγων και φιλαρμονικές ορχήστρες. Τα κάλαντα πρώτη έψαλε η Φιλαρμονική του Γ’ Σώματος Στρατού.
Ο Πρόεδρος του Δημοτικού Συμβουλίου Θεσσαλονίκης, Παναγιώτης Αβραμόπουλος, παρουσία του Αντιδημάρχου Κινητοποίησης των Πολιτών, Νεολαίας και Αθλητισμού, Κωνσταντίνου Ζέρβα καλωσόρισε το Σύλλογο Λεχριτών-Κανταδόρων Θεσσαλονίκης «Ο Διόνυσος», τις Φιλαρμονικές του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης και της Ελληνικής Αστυνομίας και μέλη της Κομμουνιστικής Νεολαίας Ελλάδας.
Τα κάλαντα έψαλαν στον Πρόεδρο του Δημοτικού Συμβουλίου, παρουσία και της Προέδρου του Κ.Α.Π.Η. Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης, Άννας Αγγελίδου, ο Σύλλογος Αθλουμένων ατόμων με Ειδικές Ανάγκες «ο Φίλιππος» και το παιδικό χορευτικό του Λυκείου Ελληνίδων.
Ο Παναγιώτης Αβραμόπουλος, ευχήθηκε σε όλους υγεία και δύναμη και δήλωσε: “Η δύσκολη συγκυρία που περνάει η χώρα, πρέπει να μας βρει όλους ενωμένους, για να κατορθώσουμε να βγούμε από τα αδιέξοδα και να προχωρήσουμε. Ως Δήμος Θεσσαλονίκης θα κάνουμε ότι μπορούμε για να ανακουφίσουμε αυτούς που πραγματικά έχουν ανάγκη. Χρόνια πολλά σε όλους”.
Ο Κωνσταντίνος Ζέρβας, από την πλευρά του τόνισε: “Αυτές είναι ημέρες αγάπης, ημέρες που ο καθένας από εμάς πρέπει να σκέφτεται και να κάνει κάτι θετικό. Εύχομαι να καταφέρουμε να βγάλουμε όλοι προς τα έξω τον καλύτερο μας εαυτό και ενωμένοι να προχωρήσουμε, ώστε η επόμενη χρονιά να μας βρει με υγεία και αισιοδοξία”.
Τις εορταστικές ημέρες που προηγήθηκαν, έψαλαν τα κάλαντα στο Δήμαρχο Θεσσαλονίκης, Γιάννη Μπουτάρη, μαθητές από το Άσυλο του Παιδιού και το Αρσάκειο και σπουδαστές του Εκπαιδευτικού Ομίλου ΞΥΝΗ.
Τέλος, ο Γενικός Γραμματέας του Δήμου, Θωμάς Ψαρράς, υποδέχθηκε στο Δημαρχείο μαθητές από τοΑριστοτέλειο Κολλέγιο και τα εκπαιδευτήρια «Ο Απόστολος Παύλος» που τραγούδησαν τα κάλαντα και Χριστουγεννιάτικες μελωδίες.

Αναδειχθηκαν χθες από τη διάσκεψη των προέδρων της Βουλής τα νέα μέλη του εποπτικού συμβουλίου της ΝΕΡΙΤ.
Ηαπόφαση ελήφθη με απλή πλειοψηφία των παρόντων μελών. Τα πρόσωπα που εγκρίθηκαν είναι οι κ. 1642: γεννιέται ο ’Αγγλος φυσικός, μαθηματικός και αστρονόμος Ισαάκ Νεύτων.
1741: ο Σουηδός αστρονόμος ’Αντερς Κέλσιους εισάγει την εκατονταβάθμια κλίμακα μέτρησης της θερμοκρασίας, που έκτοτε φέρει το όνομα του.
1776: οι αμερικανικές δυνάμεις υπό τη διοίκηση του Τζορτζ Ουάσινγκτον διασχίζουν τον ποταμό Ντελαγουέαρ την νύχτα και πραγματοποιούν έφοδο στους Βρετανούς μισθοφόρους της Έσσης κατά τη μάχη του Τρέντον την επομένη.
1821: γεννιέται η Κάρλα Μπάρτον, ιδρύτρια του αμερικανικού Ερυθρού Σταυρού.
1868: με προεδρικό διάταγμα ο ’Αντριου Τζόνσον χορηγεί πλήρη αμνηστία, σε όσους συμμετείχαν στην εξέγερση εναντίων των ΗΠΑ.

1935: ο Λεωνίδας Ανδριανόπουλος σταματάει το ποδόσφαιρο σε ηλικία 24 ετών, όταν αγωνίζεται για τελευταία φορά με τον Ολυμπιακό εναντίον της Ουίπεστ (0-1 με γκολ του Kahlai) αφού οι υποχρεώσεις της οικογένειάς του επιβάλλουν να εργάζεται στο μαγαζί του πατέρα του.
1936: "ο ’Αμπροουζ Μπράουν της Ρέξαμ αποβάλλεται στο 20""του αγώνα με τη Χουλ Σίτι, σημειώνοντας μια από τις γρηγορότερες αποβολές στην ιστορία."

1941: παραδίδεται στους Ιάπωνες η βρετανική φρουρά στο Χονγκ Κονγκ.
1949: γεννιέται η Αμερικανίδα ηθοποιός Σίσι Σπέϊσεκ.
1966: "πεθαίνει σε ηλικία 80 ετών, στο νοσοκομείο ""Όρος Σινά""του Λος ’Αντζελες ο ελληνικής καταγωγής, Νικόλαος Δάνδολας, γνωστός ως ""Nick the Greek"", που θεωρείται ο μεγαλύτερος χαρτοπαίκτης στην αμερικανική ιστορία. Λίγο καιρό πριν αρρωστήσει, έπαιζε πόκερ συνεχώς επί οχτώ ημέρες."
1971: φωτιά, που ξεσπά σε ξενοδοχείο στη Σεούλ, στη Νότια Κορέα, προκαλεί το θάνατο 139 ατόμων.
1973: πεθαίνει, σε ηλικία 89 ετών, ο Τούρκος πολιτικός Ισμέτ Ινονού, κατά κόσμο Μουσταφά Ισμέτ Πασά. Χρημάτισε πολλές φορές υπουργός Εξωτερικών και πρωθυπουργός της γειτονικής χώρας την περίοδο 1923-1965.
1973: "το πλήρωμα του διαστημόπλοιου ""Σκάιλαμπ""περπατά επί επτά ώρες στο διάστημα."
1977: "πεθαίνει στην Ελβετία, σε ηλικία 88 ετών, ο ’Αγγλος ηθοποιός Τσάρλι Τσάπλιν, ο ""Σαρλό""της μεγάλης οθόνης."
1979: η Αίγυπτος αρχίζει ευρείας κλίμακας εργασίες συντήρησης και αποκατάστασης της περίφημης Σφίγγας.
1983: πεθαίνει, σε ηλικία 90 ετών, ο Ισπανός σουρεαλιστής ζωγράφος Χουάν Μιρό.
1989: στη Ρουμανία, ο δικτάτορας Νικολάε Τσαουσέσκου και η γυναίκα του Ελένα εκτελούνται από τον στρατό, μετά την καταδίκη τους για γενοκτονία.
1991: ο Ραούφ Ντενκτάς ισχυρίζεται ότι, η έκθεση του γ.γ του ΟΗΕ για το Κυπριακό, επιβεβαιώνει τα ίσα δικαιώματα των δύο κοινοτήτων στην Κύπρο.
1991: την παραίτησή του από την ηγεσία της ΕΣΣΔ αναγγέλλει ο Μιχαήλ Γκορμπατσόφ, μετά την απόφαση 11 Δημοκρατιών να σχηματίσουν Κοινοπολιτεία Ανεξαρτήτων Κρατών (ΚΑΚ).
1992: ο Σέρβος Πρόεδρος Σλόμπονταν Μιλόσεβιτς δηλώνει στο CNN ότι, δεν υπάρχουν αθώες πλευρές στον πόλεμο της Βοσνίας.
1992: στη Βοσνία, σύμφωνα με επίσημο απολογισμό, 8.000 άτομα έχουν σκοτωθεί από την αρχή του πολέμου στο Σεράγεβο.
1992: τα Χριστούγεννα φέρνουν προσωρινή ειρήνη σε διάφορα μέρη του κόσμου. Κατάπαυση του πυρός σημειώνεται στη Βόρεια Ιρλανδία, οι συγκρούσεις μειώνονται στο Σεράγεβο, ενώ Γάλλοι και Αμερικανοί στρατιώτες καθιστούν ασφαλή μια πόλη της Σομαλίας χωρίς να πέσει κανένας πυροβολισμός.
1993: σύναψη διπλωματικών σχέσεων αποφασίζουν Αλβανία και ΠΓΔΜ.
1993: "το περιοδικό ""Τάιμ""ανακηρύττει προσωπικότητες της χρονιάς, τους Γιτζάκ Ράμπιν, Γιάσερ Αραφάτ, Φρεντερίκ Ντε Κλερκ και Νέλσον Μαντέλα για τις ειρηνευτικές τους προσπάθειες."
1994: τέσσερις αστυνομικοί τραυματίζονται στη Λάρισα, στα επεισόδια που προκαλούν οπαδοί του έκπτωτου μητροπολίτη Θεολόγου εις βάρος του Ιγνατίου.

290 ΜΝΗΜΕΙΑ ΚΑΤΑΣΤΡΑΦΗΚΑΝ ΣΤΗ ΣΥΡΙΑ
Σε περίπου 290 ανέρχονται οι χώροι ή τα μνημεία πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς στη Συρίαπου έχουν καταστραφεί από τον συνεχιζόμενο εμφύλιο πόλεμο όπως προκύπτει από δορυφορικές φωτογραφίες, ανακοίνωσε το Ινστιτούτο των Ηνωμένων Εθνών για την Εκπαίδευση και την Έρευνα (UNITAR).
Χρησιμοποιώντας εμπορικά διαθέσιμες δορυφορικές εικόνες, το UNITAR διαπίστωσε ότι 24 μνημεία ή πολιτιστικοί χώροι έχουν καταστραφεί πλήρως, 189 έχουν υποστεί πολύ μεγάλες ή αρκετά μεγάλες ζημιές και 77 έχουν πιθανόν υποστεί ζημιές.
Πρόκειται για "μία ανησυχητική απόδειξη των συνεχιζόμενων καταστροφών που συντελούνται στην τεράστια πολιτιστική κληρονομιά της Συρίας", αναφέρει σε νέα του έκθεση το Ινστιτούτο.
"Οι εθνικές και διεθνείς προσπάθειες για την προστασία αυτών των περιοχών πρέπει να ενισχυθούν προκειμένου να διασωθεί όσο περισσότερο γίνεται αυτή η σημαντική κληρονομιά για την ανθρωπότητα", όπως αναφέρεται στην έκθεση.
Από τις συγκρούσεις ανάμεσα στις δυνάμεις του προέδρου Μπασάρ αλ Άσαντ και στους αντικαθεστωτικούς έχουν προκληθεί σημαντικές καταστροφές σε ιστορικούς χώρους και κτίρια σε όλη τη Συρία.
Οι τάφοι στην πόλη Παλμύρα της ερήμου (σ.σ.: την μυθική πόλη των Φοινίκων) απειλούνται με λεηλασίες, ενώ έχουν καταστραφεί ρωμαϊκοί ναοί.
Η έκθεση καταγράφει εκτεταμένες καταστροφές σε μνημεία πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς, περιλαμβανομένων Μνημείων της Παγκόσμιας Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς της UNESCO, κυρίως στη βόρεια πόλη Χαλέπι.
Και οι δύο εμπλεκόμενες πλευρές στην εμφύλια διαμάχη έχουν χρησιμοποιήσει ως στρατιωτικές βάσεις αρχαία φρούρια. Ο στρατός έχει τοποθετήσει ελεύθερους σκοπευτές στην Ακρόπολη του Χαλεπίου, ένα από τα παλαιότερα και μεγαλύτερα κάστρα στον κόσμο.
Παράλληλα, οι δυνάμεις των αντικαθεστωτικών κατέλαβαν το ηλικίας 900 ετών κάστρο Κρακ των Ιπποτών, το οποίο ανακατέλαβε ο στρατός τον Μάρτιο αλλά έπειτα από μήνες βομβαρδισμών.
Από τις δορυφορικές φωτογραφίες προκύπτει ακόμη ότι ιστορικοί χώροι στην πόλη Ράκα καθώς και η πόλη-όαση Παλμύρα, η οποία μνημονεύεται για πρώτη φορά τη 2η χιλιετία π.Χ, έχουν υποστεί σημαντικές καταστροφές. Στη βόρεια Συρία έχουν καταστραφεί η αρχαία πόλη Βόσρα και εγκαταλελειμμένοι οικισμοί από τη Βυζαντινή περίοδο, σύμφωνα με το UNITAR.
Οι τζιχαντιστές έχουν επίσης καταστρέψει αρχαιολογικούς χώρους, τους οποίους θεωρούν αιρετικούς.
Μνημεία και κτίρια πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς σε ολόκληρη τη Συρία, όπως το Τέμενος των Ομαγιαδών στο Χαλέπι, έχουν λεηλατηθεί, καταστραφεί ή υποστεί ζημιές στη διάρκεια της σύγκρουσης που μαίνεται εδώ και τρία χρόνια.
Ο επικεφαλής της συριακής υπηρεσίας αρχαιοτήτων και μουσείων, ο Μααμούν Αμπντουλκάριμ, δήλωσε τον περασμένο χρόνο στο Ρόιτερς ότι δεκάδες χιλιάδες τεχνουργήματα, ηλικίας μέχρι και 10.000 ετών, έχουν μεταφερθεί σε ειδικές αποθήκες προκειμένου να μην λεηλατηθούν.
Σύμφωνα με τα Ηνωμένα Έθνη, περισσότεροι από 200.000 άνθρωποι έχουν σκοτωθεί στον εμφύλιο στη Συρία, που ξεκίνησε τον Μάρτιο του 2011 έπειτα από λαϊκές διαδηλώσεις διαμαρτυρίας κατά του προέδρου Άσαντ και την βίαιη καταστολή τους από τις δυνάμεις ασφαλείας.

ΤΑ ΣΤΟΙΧΙΩΜΕΝΑ ΤΗΣ ΑΘΗΝΑΣ
Εξερευνήσαμε και φωτογραφήσαμε τρία γοητευτικά, μυθοποιημένα ή σκανδαλωδώς εγκαταλελειμμένα μέρη στην Αθήνα: Από τη Βίλα του Ιόλα στην Αγία Παρασκευή ως τη Σπηλιά του Νταβέλη στην Πεντέλη και το ΝΙΕΝ στα Μελίσσια, σας παρουσιάζουμε τρία μέρη με εξαιρετικά παράξενη ιστορία.
Βίλα Ιόλα, Δημοκρατίας 6-8, Αγ. Παρασκευή
Ο Αλέξανδρος Ιόλας γεννήθηκε το 1907 στην Αλεξάνδρεια και σπούδασε χορό στη Γερμανία και τη Γαλλία, πριν καταλήξει στη Νέα Υόρκη και τη “Ballet Theatre Company.” Όταν ένα ατύχημα στο πόδι του τον εμπόδισε να συνεχίσει την καριέρα του στο χορό, ίδρυσε στη Νέα Υόρκη τη Hugo Gallery που έγινε αποκλειστικός αντιπρόσωπος του Ερνστ και του Μαγκρίτ στην Αμερική. Από τα 50s και μετά ο Ιόλας συνέβαλλε στην ανάδειξη του Andy Warhol και δημιούργησε γκαλερί σε Ευρωπαϊκές πόλεις. Επιστρέφοντας στην Ελλάδα, έφτιαξε μία βίλα στην Αγία Παρασκευή, όπου μετέφερε την τεράστιας αξίας συλλογή του. Η βίλα φιλοξένησε πολυτελείς δεξιώσεις και έγινε το φρούριο του Ιόλα τα τελευταία χρόνια της ζωής του, ενάντια στις επιθέσεις που δεχόταν ως ομοφυλόφιλος και οροθετικός.
Λίγο πριν πεθάνει το 1987, ο Ιόλας προσφέρθηκε να δωρίσει τη συλλογή του στο ελληνικό κράτος, το οποίο αρνήθηκε. Μετά το θάνατο του, η βίλα λεηλατήθηκε με αποτέλεσμα να μη μείνει τίποτα από την τεράστιας αξίας συλλογή και να βανδαλιστεί το εντυπωσιακής αρχιτεκτονικής και διακόσμησης κτίριο. Η περιήγηση στην περίπου 7 στρεμμάτων βίλα προκαλεί θλίψη για τη σκανδαλώδη εγκατάλειψη της. Πλέον έχουν αφαιρεθεί ακόμα και τα κουφώματα και τα είδη υγιεινής, τα μάρμαρα που καλύπτουν τις περισσότερες επιφάνειες της είναι σπασμένα και λερωμένα με γκράφιτι ενώ υπάρχουν ακόμα καμένα ρούχα του Ιόλα στη γκαρνταρόμπα του στο υπόγειο της βίλας.
Έτσι, ένα μέρος που θα μπορούσε να είναι από τις καλύτερες γκαλερί στην Ελλάδα, δέχεται τους επισκέπτες του από μία τρύπα στα κάγκελα στα πλαϊνά της.
Σπηλιά Νταβέλη,Πεντέλη
Η Πεντέλη ήταν ανέκαθεν αγαπημένο θέμα μεταμεσονύχτιων εκπομπών μεταφυσικής. Μαγνητικά πεδία, σατανιστές, εξωγήινοι και πειράματα είναι μερικές από τις θεωρίες που ορμώμενες από πραγματικά γεγονότα εκτροχιάστηκαν. Η σπηλιά του Νταβέλη ονομάστηκε έτσι από το λήσταρχο (1832-1856) που λέγεται πως κρυβόταν εκεί και πως μάλιστα είχε ερωμένη του τη Δούκισσα της Πλακεντίας που είχε το ανάκτορο της λίγο πιο κάτω. Η σπηλιά εξερευνήθηκε από το ζεύγος Πετροχείλου το 1935, ενώ υπάρχουν ενδείξεις πως μπορεί να χρησιμοποιείτο ως λατρευτικός χώρος και στην αρχαιότητα. Τη δεκαετία του 70 και του 80 το Υπουργείο Άμυνας πραγματοποίησε εργασίες στο εσωτερικό του σπηλαίου που αργότερα σφραγίστηκε, προκαλώντας διάφορες θεωρίες. Η σπηλιά συνδέθηκε επίσης με τους σατανιστές της Παλλήνης τη δεκαετία του ’90.
Διαβάζοντας κάποιος αυτές τις θεωρίες δημιουργεί προσδοκίες πολύ ανώτερες του σφραγισμένου και μάλλον αδιάφορου πλέον σπηλαίου. Αν και η έλλειψη σηματοδότησης το κάνει αρκετά δυσπρόσιτο, -βρίσκεται σε έναν χωματόδρομο ανεβαίνοντας προς το εγκαταλελειμμένο στρατιωτικό νοσοκομείο στην κορυφή της Πεντέλης, η επισκεψιμότητα του είναι ανάλογη του μύθου του και όχι της σημερινής πραγματικότητας. Αποτέλεσμα αυτού, οι βαμμένοι βράχοι και η λεηλατημένη εκκλησία στην είσοδο του. Πάντως η διαδρομή για το σπήλαιο, με καταπληκτική θέα της Αθήνας, είναι από μόνη της επαρκής λόγος για να ανέβει κάποιος ως εκεί.
Νοσηλευτικό Ίδρυμα Εμπορικού Ναυτικού (ΝΙΕΝ),Κουντουριώτου, Μελίσσια
Το ΝΙΕΝ που ιδρύθηκε το 1948, αρχικά ως σανατόριο, έκλεισε προσωρινά το 1975 για να γίνουν επισκευές. Ενώ είχαν ήδη δαπανηθεί πάνω από 100 εκατ. δραχμές, οι εργασίες τελικά σταμάτησαν το 1981 και το νοσοκομείο εγκαταλείφθηκε. Το 5όροφο κτίριο των 11.600 τ.μ. βρίσκεται στη μέση ενός πευκοδάσους 119 στρεμμάτων. Αν και έχουν γίνει διάφορες προτάσεις για την αξιοποίηση του, καμία τελικά δεν ευοδώθηκε. Έτσι, παραμένει για 40 χρόνια άδειο.
Όντας εντυπωσιακά μεγάλο και εγκαταλελειμμένο, το ΝΙΕΝ θυμίζει σκηνικό ταινίας. Αν και πλέον έχουν ξηλωθεί ακόμη και σωληνώσεις από τους τοίχους του, υπάρχουν ακόμη σε ορισμένα σημεία σκορπισμένα έγγραφα του νοσοκομείου. Το κτίριο, από τα υπόγεια μέχρι την ταράτσα του με την εντυπωσιακή θέα, είναι ένα από τα πιο αξιοπρόσεκτα σημεία στην Αθήνα.
Στο ΝΙΕΝ μπορεί κάποιος να μπει ακόμη κι από την κεντρική του είσοδο που είναι πολλές φορές ανοιχτή.

ΣΗΜΕΡΑ-27 ΔΕΚΕΜΒΡΙΟΥ
1571: γεννιέται ο Γερμανός αστρονόμος και φιλόσοφος Γιόχαν Κέπλερ, που διατύπωσε τους τρεις περίφημους νόμους, οι οποίοι έδειξαν στο Νεύτωνα το δρόμο προς τη θεωρία της παγκόσμιας έλξης.

ΑΠΑΓΟΡΕΥΤΗΚΕ Η ΠΡΟΒΟΛΗ ΤΑΙΝΙΑΣ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΙΓΥΠΤΟ
Νωρίτερα εφέτος και σε πολλές χώρες της Μέσης Ανατολής απαγορεύτηκε η προβολή του επίσης βιβλικού έπους της εταιρείας παραγωγής Paramount Pictures με τίτλο «Νώε» εξ αιτίας της απεικόνισης του προφήτη, η οποία απαγορεύεται στο Ισλάμ.
Η ταινία, «Έξοδος: Θεοί και Βασιλιάδες» σε σκηνοθεσία Ρίντλεϊ Σκοτ και με πρωταγωνιστή τον Κρίστιαν Μπέιλ, δραματοποιεί την βιβλική έξοδο του Μωυσή που οδήγησε τους Εβραίους μακριά από την Αίγυπτο. Η παραγωγή της ταινίας με εκτιμώμενο προϋπολογισμό ύψους 140 εκατομμυρίων δολαρίων έχει δεχτεί αυστηρή κριτική για την παρουσία κυρίως λευκών στους πρωταγωνιστικούς ρόλους αλλά και για ορισμένους ιστορικούς αναχρονισμούς.
Το Μαρόκο έχει επίσης απαγορεύσει την ταινία, η οποία έχει μέχρι στιγμής αποφέρει στα ταμεία 107 εκατομμύρια δολάρια στις μόλις δύο εβδομάδες της παγκόσμιας προβολής της.
Η απαγόρευση της ταινίας «Έξοδος: Θεοί και Βασιλιάδες» έρχεται τη στιγμή που ένα άλλο στούντιο η Sony Pictures βρέθηκε αντιμέτωπη με μια καταστροφική κυβερνοεπίθεση για την ταινία «The Interview» που μεταφέρει στην οθόνη ένα φανταστικό σενάριο για τη δολοφονία του ηγέτη της Βόρειας Κορέας Κιμ Γιονγκ Ουν.
