2008Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" hits #1 in the US, where it stays for seven weeks. Perry's first chart-topper, it's a startling turnabout from just seven years earlier, when she was a gospel singer recording under her real name: Katy Hudson.
"I Kissed A Girl" finds Perry singing about going to a club and having her first smooch with another female. She takes some heat from conservative groups, but most listeners consider the lyrics nothing more than a lark, and the song propels Perry to the top tier of pop music.
The trenchant beat comes courtesy of producer Dr. Luke, who also takes a songwriter credit along with Perry, Max Martin and Cathy Dennis - a song-making dream team. Perry claims the song is based in real life, as it was inspired by a girl crush she had when she was 15.
In addition to boosting Perry's career, the song also sends sales of cherry-flavored Chapstick higher, thanks to the line, "The taste of her cherry chapstick."

Η 2484 Περιφέρεια Διεθνούς Ρόταρυσε συνεργασία με τους Ομίλους Rotaract της Περιφέρειας και με τους Ροταριανούς Ομίλους της Θεσσαλονίκης, υπό την αιγίδα της Περιφέρειας Κεντρικής Μακεδονίαςκαι με τη στήριξη της Διεθνούς Έκθεσης Θεσσαλονίκης, τουΓενικού Νοσοκομείου Παπανικολάουκαι τουΙατρικού Διαβαλκανικού Θεσσαλονίκης, οργάνωσαν με εξαιρετική επιτυχία στο πλαίσιο της Παγκόσμιας Ημέρας Εθελοντικής Αιμοδοσίας, την Τετάρτη 4 Ιουλίου 2018Εθελοντική Αιμοδοσίαπου πραγματοποιήθηκε από τις 9 π.μ. έως τις 2 το μεσημέρι στις εγκαταστάσεις της κεντρικής Νότιας Πύλης της ΔΕΘ (απέναντι από τη ΧΑΝΘ). Με κεντρικό σύνθημα «Ζήσε την εμπειρία της προσφοράς – Πολιτισμός σημαίνει αλληλεγγύη» και με στόχο την δημιουργία Τράπεζας Αίματοςαλλά κυρίως και για την ευαισθητοποίηση και συμμετοχή όχι μόνον των ροταρακτόρων και ροταριανών, αλλά και όλων των συμπολιτών μας, η πρωτοβουλία αυτή εντάσσεται στο πλαίσιο της συνεχούς κοινωνικής προσφοράς και αλληλεγγύης του Ρόταρυ στη Βορ. Ελλάδα.
Η Τράπεζα Αίματος της 2484 ΠΔΡ είναι νόμιμα πιστοποιημένη από το Εθνικό Μητρώο Αιμοδοτών με αριθ. 14410 και υπεύθυνος του προγράμματος είναι ο πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής Αιμοδοσίας της Περιφέρειας ιατρός Αριστοτέλης Αποστολίδης ο οποίος δήλωσε: “Mε ιδιαίτερη χαρά υποδεχθήκαμε στην τρίτη κατά σειρά Εθελοντική Αιμοδοσία της Περιφέρειας πολλούς νέους ανθρώπους, που προσήλθαν να προσφέρουν αίμα. Συγκεντρώσαμε με την εποπτεία των ιατρών και του νοσηλευτικού προσωπικού του Γενικού Νοσοκομείου Γ. Παπανικολάου 39 μονάδες αίματος, γεγονός που μας δίνει δύναμη να συνεχίσουμε την προσπάθεια. Ανανεώνουμε το ραντεβού μας αυτό, για τον προσεχή Δεκέμβριο. Ευχαριστώ θερμά όλους τους ομίλους Rotaractτης Θεσσαλονίκης, καθώς και όλους τους Ροταριανούς Ομίλους της Περιφέρειάς μας από τη Θεσσαλονίκη που ήταν παρόντες με οποιονδήποτε τρόπο στην διοργάνωση. Το φετινό moto της Παγκόσμιας Ημέρας Εθελοντικής Αιμοδοσίαςείναι «Να είσαι εκεί για τον άλλο / Δώσε αίμα / Μοιράσου ζωή» και με αφορμή αυτήν την πρώτη δράση της 2484 ΠΔΡ ο νέος Διοικητής Θεόδωρος Ασπασίδηςδήλωσε: «Είναι πολύ σημαντικό να προσφέρεις αίμα για να βοηθήσεις τον πάσχοντα συνάνθρωπο, φίλο, συνεργάτη ή και πιο απλά έναν άγνωστο συμπολίτη σου. Είναι κάτι πολύ σπουδαίο. Είναι μια πράξη αλληλεγγύης και ανθρωπιάς και πολύ σωστά, πολιτισμός σημαίνει αλληλεγγύη. Ευχαριστώ και συγχαίρω από καρδιάς, τον β. Διοικητή και πρόεδρο της Επιτροπής Εθελοντικής Αιμοδοσίας ιατρό Αριστοτέλη Αποστολίδη, ο οποίος είχε την έμπνευση και την πρωτοβουλία αυτής της διοργάνωσης, την οποία πραγματοποιεί επί σειρά ετών σε συνεργασία με τους Ροταριανούς Ομίλους της Θεσσαλονίκης. Επίσης, ευχαριστώ και συγχαίρω τους ομίλους Rotaract της Περιφέρειάς μας και ιδιαιτέρως την DRR Τζένη Δογάνη, οι οποίοι προσέφεραν διπλά στη μεγάλη αυτή ανθρωπιστική και κοινωνική προσφορά μας. Παπανικολάου, τον υπεύθυνο ιατρό αιματολόγο κ. Αθανάσιο Αναστασιάδη, καθώς και το νοσηλευτικό προσωπικό του νοσοκομείου που είχαν την ευθύνη της πραγματοποίησης της αιμοδοσίας. Η απόλυτη Ελληνίδα σταρ μαζί με την «χρυσή» 13μελή μπάντα της δίνει συναυλίες σε όλη την Ελλάδα, και παρουσιάζει ένα πρόγραμμα γεμάτο ενέργεια και έρωτα με όλες της τις παλιές και νέες επιτυχίες.

the beauty of the 19 new UNESCO World Heritage Sites around the globe
- UNESCO's World Heritage Committee has added 19 new locations to its list of World Heritage Sites.
- A mountain range in Mexico, mountains in France, a cathedral in Germany, and a forest in Canada are among the new sites.
- These locations will be listed as protected zones in to stop development and preserve them for future generations.
UNESCO has added 19 locations to its list of World Heritage Sites, a new cadre of sites spanning everything from temples in Korea to architecture in India to an oasis in Saudi Arabia.
The World Heritage Committee announced them over the past week after a meeting in Bahrain.
The committee chooses sites around the world that they think need preserving for their cultural, historic or scientific significance. The list already includes world-famous locations such as India's Taj Mahal and Peru's Machu Picchu.
Once a location is listed, it gains legal protection under international treaties.

Ανακοίνωση της Διοίκησης σχετικά με το Διεθνές Πανεπιστήμιο Ελλάδος
Το Διεθνές Πανεπιστήμιο Ελλάδος συμπληρώνει φέτος δέκα χρόνια επιτυχημένης παρουσίας στον χώρο της εκπαίδευσης, προσφέροντας υψηλού επιπέδου προγράμματα μεταπτυχιακών σπουδών αποκλειστικά στην αγγλική γλώσσα. Με την προσέλκυση φοιτητών από το εξωτερικό, αλλά και με τη συμμετοχή του στο πρόγραμμα «Study in Thessaloniki» που υλοποιεί ο Δήμος με στόχο την ανάδειξη της Θεσσαλονίκης ως εκπαιδευτικού προορισμού, το διεθνούς κύρους εκπαιδευτικό ίδρυμα αποτελεί έναν σημαντικό πυλώνα εξωστρέφειας για την πόλη μας.
Η Διοίκηση του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης εκφράζει τον προβληματισμό της για τη σχεδιαζόμενη συγχώνευση του εδρεύοντος στην πόλη μας Διεθνούς Πανεπιστημίου Ελλάδος με τα ΤΕΙ της Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας και της Ανατολικής Μακεδονίας και Θράκης. Με την προτεινόμενη συγχώνευση του ΔΙ.ΠΑ.Ε. με τα δύο ΤΕΙ, που παρέχουν εντελώς διαφορετικά προγράμματα σπουδών εστιασμένα στην τεχνολογική κατάρτιση, διαγράφεται σημαντικός κίνδυνος υποβάθμισης του κύρους του ιδρύματος, γεγονός που θα αποτελέσει πλήγμα για το ίδιο αλλά και για την πόλη».

«Άγιον Όρος: Κατ’ εικόνα του φωτογραφικού βλέμματος»

Ο Δήμος Καστοριάς, η Βυζαντινή Οικουμένη και το Κέντρο Βυζαντινών, Νεοελληνικών και Νοτιοανατολικών Σπουδών της Σχολής Ανώτατων Σπουδών του Παρισιού σε συνεργασία με την Αγιορειτική Εστία Θεσσαλονίκης διοργανώνουν την Έκθεση φωτογραφίας με τίτλο:
«Άγιον Όρος: Κατ’ εικόνα του φωτογραφικού βλέμματος».
Η Έκθεση θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο Αρχοντικό Μπασάρα της Καστοριάς, εγκαινιάζεται την Κυριακή 8 Ιουλίου 2018 και ώρα 19:30 και εντάσσεται στο πρόγραμμα του 8ου θερινού Πανεπιστημίου Βυζαντινών Σπουδών, το δεύτερο μέρος του οποίου θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Καστοριά από τις 8 έως τις 13 Ιουλίου 2018 στον ίδιο χώρο.
Στην Έκθεση παρουσιάζεται το έργο που πραγματοποίησαν στο Άγιον Όρος τέσσερεις φωτογράφοι: ο Ali Borovali από την Τουρκία, ο Zbigniew Kosc από την Пολωνία, ο Zoran Purger από την Σερβία και ο Valery Bliznyuk από την Ρωσία.
Το Άγιον Όρος υπήρξε, και συνεχίζει να είναι, ένας ιδιαίτερος πόλος έλξης για όλους τους δημιουργούς, ιστορικούς, συγγραφείς, ποιητές, ζωγράφους και κυρίως φωτογράφους. Οι τέσσερεις φωτογράφοι επισκέφθηκαν πολλές φορές την Αθωνική Πολιτεία και βίωσαν την εμπειρία του προσκυνητή – περιηγητή καταγράφοντας μέσα από το φωτογραφικό τους φακό μοναδικές στιγμές από το φυσικό τοπίο, τις λατρευτικές συνήθειες των μοναχών, τον καθημερινό τους βίο και κατέληξαν να εστιάσουν στα πρόσωπα των γερόντων του Άθω.
Η Έκθεση πρωτοπαρουσιάστηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη, στους εκθεσιακούς χώρους της Αγιορειτικής Εστίας (Σεπτέμβριος 2015 - Μάρτιος 2016). Ακολούθως μεταφέρθηκε στο Σισμανόγλειο Μέγαρο του Γενικού Προξενείου της Ελλάδας στην Κωνσταντινούπολη (6 - 28 Μαΐου 2016), όπου εγκαινιάστηκε από την Α.Θ.Π. τον Οικουμενικό Πατριάρχη κ.κ. Βαρθολομαίο, στη Λευκωσία (29 Σεπτεμβρίου - 7 Οκτωβρίου 2016), στην πόλη της Κατερίνης (14 - 27 Νοεμβρίου 2016), στο Βελιγράδι στην Κρύπτη του ναού του Αγίου Σάββα (29 Απριλίου – 18 Μαΐου 2017), καθώς και στο Βέλικο Τύρνοβο της Βουλγαρίας (17 Νοεμβρίου – 10 Δεκεμβρίου 2017).

Lennon was impressed, and even more so when McCartney showed Lennon and Eric Griffiths how to tune their guitars, something they'd been paying someone else to do for them. | |

«Άγιον Όρος: Κατ’ εικόνα του φωτογραφικού βλέμματος»

Ο Δήμος Καστοριάς, η Βυζαντινή Οικουμένη και το Κέντρο Βυζαντινών, Νεοελληνικών και Νοτιοανατολικών Σπουδών της Σχολής Ανώτατων Σπουδών του Παρισιού σε συνεργασία με την Αγιορειτική Εστία Θεσσαλονίκης διοργανώνουν την Έκθεση φωτογραφίας με τίτλο:
«Άγιον Όρος: Κατ’ εικόνα του φωτογραφικού βλέμματος».
Η Έκθεση θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο Αρχοντικό Μπασάρα της Καστοριάς, εγκαινιάζεται την Κυριακή 8 Ιουλίου 2018 και ώρα 19:30 και εντάσσεται στο πρόγραμμα του 8ου θερινού Πανεπιστημίου Βυζαντινών Σπουδών, το δεύτερο μέρος του οποίου θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Καστοριά από τις 8 έως τις 13 Ιουλίου 2018 στον ίδιο χώρο.
Στην Έκθεση παρουσιάζεται το έργο που πραγματοποίησαν στο Άγιον Όρος τέσσερεις φωτογράφοι: ο Ali Borovali από την Τουρκία, ο Zbigniew Kosc από την Пολωνία, ο Zoran Purger από την Σερβία και ο Valery Bliznyuk από την Ρωσία.
Το Άγιον Όρος υπήρξε, και συνεχίζει να είναι, ένας ιδιαίτερος πόλος έλξης για όλους τους δημιουργούς, ιστορικούς, συγγραφείς, ποιητές, ζωγράφους και κυρίως φωτογράφους. Οι τέσσερεις φωτογράφοι επισκέφθηκαν πολλές φορές την Αθωνική Πολιτεία και βίωσαν την εμπειρία του προσκυνητή – περιηγητή καταγράφοντας μέσα από το φωτογραφικό τους φακό μοναδικές στιγμές από το φυσικό τοπίο, τις λατρευτικές συνήθειες των μοναχών, τον καθημερινό τους βίο και κατέληξαν να εστιάσουν στα πρόσωπα των γερόντων του Άθω.
Η Έκθεση πρωτοπαρουσιάστηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη, στους εκθεσιακούς χώρους της Αγιορειτικής Εστίας (Σεπτέμβριος 2015 - Μάρτιος 2016). Ακολούθως μεταφέρθηκε στο Σισμανόγλειο Μέγαρο του Γενικού Προξενείου της Ελλάδας στην Κωνσταντινούπολη (6 - 28 Μαΐου 2016), όπου εγκαινιάστηκε από την Α.Θ.Π. τον Οικουμενικό Πατριάρχη κ.κ. Βαρθολομαίο, στη Λευκωσία (29 Σεπτεμβρίου - 7 Οκτωβρίου 2016), στην πόλη της Κατερίνης (14 - 27 Νοεμβρίου 2016), στο Βελιγράδι στην Κρύπτη του ναού του Αγίου Σάββα (29 Απριλίου – 18 Μαΐου 2017), καθώς και στο Βέλικο Τύρνοβο της Βουλγαρίας (17 Νοεμβρίου – 10 Δεκεμβρίου 2017).

Αξιοποίηση χώρου στην πρώην Ναυτική Διοίκηση Β. Ελλάδας
Σε εξέλιξη βρίσκονται οι διαδικασίες για την αξιοποίηση του χώρου της πρώην Ναυτικής Διοίκησης Βορείου Ελλάδος, που βρίσκεται απέναντι από το κτίριο της Περιφέρειας Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας, στην περιοχή του Ντεπό. Ήδη έχει ολοκληρωθεί η κατεδάφιση των δύο από τα συνολικά οκτώ κτήρια που βρίσκονται στην έκταση των 4,8 στρεμμάτων, που προβλέπεται να διαμορφωθεί σε χώρο πρασίνου και αναψυχής.
Σήμερα, Παρασκευή 6 Ιουλίου 2018, ο Δήμαρχος Θεσσαλονίκης, Γιάννης Μπουτάρης, ξεναγήθηκε στον χώρο από τον Πλοίαρχο Σπυρίδωνα Μανωλάκη ΠΝ, ο οποίος τον ενημέρωσε ότι σταδιακά μέσα στο επόμενο διάστημα θα κατεδαφιστούν και άλλα τέσσερα ετοιμόρροπα κτίσματα και στη συνέχεια θα γίνει καθαρισμός του χώρου.
Με αφορμή τη συγκεκριμένη εξέλιξη, ο Γιάννης Μπουτάρης, έκανε την ακόλουθη δήλωση: «Εδώ και τρία χρόνια είμαστε σε επαφή με το Αρχηγείο του Ναυτικού για την αξιοποίηση του χώρου. Στην έκταση θα παραμείνουν τα δύο διατηρητέα κτίρια, τα οποία θα χρησιμοποιήσει το Ναυτικό και στο υπόλοιπο τμήμα σχεδιάζουμε να δημιουργήσουμε πάρκο και παιδική χαρά
